Will you burn the candle? I wonder …

How many times have you received a really “nice” gift and do not use it. You save it waiting for a special occasion.  The list of my “really nice gifts” that go unused is long; and, I am committed to shrinking it. Last week I was talking to one of my soul sisters. I mentioned a consignment experience (to share another time) and that I found these really funky inexpensive holiday candles. So, I bought them and plan to burn them this holiday. Ironically, if I had received them as a gift, they would still be in the box.

My friend shared a similar experience. Her partner received a set of beautiful designer candles and for the longest time these candles sat unused, collecting dust. Finally they decided to light them. What were they waiting for?

What nice gifts have you received that sit waiting for the “right” moment? Do you have candles, perfume, lingerie, cigars, liquor, china, anything – just sitting stored or collecting dust waiting for you to enjoy?
