How much do you celebrate – non-monetary wealth?  I wonder …

Today, May 28th is my 24th wedding anniversary. My marriage, and more specifically my relationship with my partner, is one of the most valuable manifestations of my life. With a rising divorce rate and even more dismal news about failing relationships in all forms, I feel the richness of being in a conscious and loving relationship. Our relationship nurtures, coaxes, encourages, challenges, nudges, faces, pierces, reveals … an evolving life for each of us to live up to and into the essence of our being. While longevity does not equal this kind of marriage, it can be an indicator of value and where attention is given. If I had one practice to offer that has enriched our relationship beyond words, it is: to reveal rather than conceal. In other words, tell the truth always and frequently. My beloved and I have no secrets. My beloved and I give attention to our communication every day.
