Does $ Make You Cranky?

Does $ make you cranky? I wonder…

Trying to sign up for an exercise class triggered volumes of agitation.  First, my mailed in registration was rejected because I was “too early” to register. Unpublished, mailed in registrations are not accepted to be “fair”; so they began this morning at 7:00 either online or in person.  At 7:00 ish, I attempted to register online. Sure enough, it did not work – the account was in my husband’s name even though he is no longer a member. 🙁   Our landlines, also cranky, are not working so I could not call out but even with my cell phone – not so good reception – I was put on hold then asked to leave a message.

Jumping in my car to drive to the center, running on gas fumes, my agitation escalated.  Presnt at the center, folks with canes and arthritis and noticeable body struggles were in line with me.  I was not cheerful, I could have been worse, I was curt.  Walking out of the building I saw my prickles.  My insight rubbed my edges like sandpaper on rough wood. I softened.  The truth is – I am so fortunate and deeply blessed.  This situation offered me a timeout to see my good fortune and chill, really chill.

Money situations do the same thing. They make us cranky.  They make us curt.  Pay attention to your frustration. What’s underneath?  Can you find the sandpaper to smooth the edges? I wonder.
